On endless loops
Staring at the build which failed
Now what’s the use of that line I nailed?
I could be gaslighting myself,
Could take the dev books from the shelf,
Throw them into the deepest lake,
Then go forever on a break.
Or open a file to start anew,
Until I don’t find a thing to chew,
Just wasting my time staring at the wall,
Avoiding those seeming to know it all.
Or look around for a help in need,
Of someone who doesn’t just repeat
The same advice given by AI
On endless loops I can’t rely.

Love this! Great poem 👌
This hit me right in the quiet part of my night. There’s something so painfully honest about the rhythm of your words—how they capture that loop between frustration and reflection, where even giving up starts to sound poetic. The way you tied it all back to AI made me smile wryly too—like we’re all just trying to debug both code and self.
And that photo at the end—it feels like the perfect metaphor: water moving even when we can’t. Thank you for writing this; it’s strangely comforting to be reminded that even in the loops, we’re not alone in the search for meaning…
