Heyyy Daniela, you know what I liked most about this was how the the "imagined" version became so vivid and detailed that it almost felt like a memory, all while the reality of it all only ended with you leaving, slowly. It made me think about hesitation and that hesitation doesn't just cost us an opportunity, it can really create an entire parallel life in our heads, complete with conversations, music, and endings that never had the chance to exist.
That’s not digressing. It’s naming the lesson I learned in the way I meant it. Vivid and detailed as if I knew what I was doing, where I would have been going… not yet knowing that after that first imagined insurmountable obstacle, it’s not quite easy and boring.
When I came here, I had a foggy idea about writing… now I’m turning characters into life, humour taking the place of invented „data“.
This was so relatable. We really do write whole stories in our heads before we even take one step, don’t we? And usually we convince ourselves those stories are facts.
I loved the imagined version, even though it made the real ending feel a little sadder. But I also loved your reminder that stumbling around is still walking. Sometimes even noticing what’s happening inside us is a step forward. And that last line about not coming home thirsty was beautiful.

The real ending wasn’t the ending of my story. The way it turned around the way I was feeling every day, and how my path went on, it’s amazing!
